CLARKSVILLE – Chattanooga Mocs' beach volleyball team went 2-0 to wrap up the regular season at Ohio Valley Conference Weekend at Austin Peay. The Mocs defeated Morehead State 4-1 and UT Martin 3-2.
 
The Mocs round out the regular season 16-12 overall and 5-3 in OVC competition. UT Martin falls to 14-8 overall and 6-2 in the OVC. Morehead State dropped to 8-9, 2-5.

In the first dual against Morehead State, Julia Davis and Joy Courtright got the first point for the Mocs with a 21-5, 21-19 win at No. 5. After Morehead State won at No. 4, the Mocs secured the 4-1 win with victories at the top three spots. Neva Clark and Paige Gallentine remained undefeated on the weekend with a 21-17, 21-15 straight-set win. Hanley Lomax and Bailey Steger (No. 3) clinched the match with a 21-23, 21-15, 15-7 win. In a hard-fought match at the top spot, Bailey Young and Gylian Finch came out victorious with a 15-13 third-set win.
 
Against UT Martin, the Skyhawks and Mocs split the No. 4 and 5 matches after Davis and Courtright won 21-17, 21-18 at the No. 5 spot for Chattanooga. Gallentine and Clark put the Mocs up 2-1 with a 21-18, 21-16 win at No. 2 before UT Martin won both sets, 21-17, at the third pair to tie the match at two. Finch and Young won the only three-set match of the contest, 16-21, 21-15, 15-10 to give the Mocs the 3-2 victory.  
 
Chattanooga has earned the No. 3 seed in the OVC Championship next weekend in Morehead, Ky. beginning Thursday, April 28. The Mocs will face the second-seeded Govs of Austin Peay in the first round.
