Morehead, Ky. – Chattanooga's beach volleyball team concluded the regular season with a 16-12 overall record and went 5-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference to earn a three seed in this week's OVC Championship.
The Mocs will face No. 2 Austin Peay in the first round on Thursday, August 28 at 2:30 p.m. The Govs earned the No. 2 seed after a 6-2 mark in league action.
At the top pair,
Baylee Young and
Gylian Finch have an 11-8 record this season and went 5-3 in league action. The second pairing for the Mocs have the best winning percentage with a 15-7 record and a 6-2 mark in conference matches. Rounding out the top three pairs,
Hanley Lomax and
Bailey Steger went 12-12 overall with a 3-3 mark in OVC play this season.
Rounding out the probable five pairings are
Victoria Cerino and
Madi Morris at No. 4 and
Julia Davis and
Joy Courtright at the final pair. Cerino and Morris are 10-12 this year, while Courtright and Davis are 10-1 as a duo.
UT-Martin earned the top seed after going 6-2 in league action and defeating Austin Peay twice this season. Morehead State went 3-5 to secure the No. 4 seed, while Eastern Illinois is the five.
