CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs added three new members to the football coaching and support staff Coach
Rusty Wright announced on Thursday. The group includes defensive line coach
Anthony Shakir, recruiting coordinator
Leyton Teal and director of football operations
Emily Baustert. The trio bring an experienced background to their roles.
Shakir comes to the Scenic City from ETSU where he got to see first hand the depth of the Mocs unit.
Â
"We took our time with this one to make sure we got it right," Wright noted. "When you look at that group and what they bring to our squad, you wanted the right guy in that room. When 'Shak' was available, we wanted him in for as much of the spring as he could. We were prepared to go through spring without one unless we found the right guy. And we did."
Â
Teal moves into the recruiting lead role from video coordinator/recruiting assistant role. He's had hands-on experience in the team's efforts to bring in talent over the last few seasons. He beat out an impressive pool of applicants as did Baustert.
Â
She comes to Chattanooga from her alma mater, Davenport. There she served the DII program in much the same fashion as she will here.
Â
"We're really excited with Leyton and Emily joining us in these roles," Wright added. "Both are vital to what we do and help keep the coaches coaching."
