CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs added Dr. Taylor Toner to its leadership team Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton announced Friday. Toner comes on board as Assistant Athletics Director for Business affairs from Little Rock.

Toner is a former student-athlete, playing volleyball first at Montevallo and then North Alabama. The Killen, Ala., native brings a strong background in athletics administration.
 
"We are excited to welcome Taylor to our athletics family," Wharton shared. "Throughout the process, it became apparent that she was the best person for this role. It's a vital one at our level, and we're very excited to bring her to Chattanooga."
 
Toner served in the same capacity at Little Rock from 2020-22 before coming to the Scenic City. She spent a year as director of ticketing at Western Carolina, following an extended period in Johnson City in academic and professional pursuits.
 
She earned both her Master's (Sport Management, 2016) and Doctorate (Global Sport Leadership, 2020) at ETSU, starting out as an intern in the business office. That led to a graduate assistantship in athletics before starting her experience in ticketing from 2016-19.
 
Toner was a second team All-Peach Belt performer in 2010 at Montevallo. She was also a two-time Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week playing middle blocker at UNA. She and her husband Max have one child, Price, and a goldendoodle named Sadie.
