GREENSBORO – The Chattanooga Mocs' softball team hits the road in league action for the first time this season as the Mocs head to Greensboro, N.C. for a pivotal regular-season series. First pitch of the series is set for Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m.
The Spartans are 6-0 in Southern Conference action this season. UTC sits at 5-1 in league play, looking to hand UNCG its first loss of the conference season.

UNCG AND CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs and the Spartans are the only two teams in the SoCon hitting above .300 in conference play through the first two weeks of league competition. Both pitching staffs are also evenly matched with the Spartans holding a 1.75 team ERA in league play, while UTC's sits at 2.28.
The two differences come on the base path and with the long ball. Chattanooga has stolen 15 bases in league action; UNCG has just one. The Spartans have hit more home runs over the last two weeks than every other team combined, 28. The Spartans are second in the nation with 74 home runs this season.
CHATTANOOGA NOTES | FULL
SELLERS' STRONG SOCON START
Freshman first basemen,
Acelynn Sellers is hitting .450 through the first two weeks of SoCon play. She is slugging .750 with a .500 on-base percentage. She is tied for the team lead with eight multi-RBI games and is second with 22 this season.
COLTHARP'S CONSISTENCY
Emily Coltharp leads the squad and the SoCon with a .398 batting average. The fourth-year junior has 15 multi-hit games, which includes three three-hit games. She has reached base in 17 straight games, the longest streak by a Moc since 2016 (Jordan Fortel).
GOING...GOING...GONE!
UTC has belted 31 home runs this season, led by eight from
Kaili Phillips. Chattanooga's 31 homers have come from nine different players with six Mocs posting three or more this season. 15 of their 33 homers have come in the third or fourth inning (45%).
