Mocs Face No. 6 Alabama on Friday at 4 p.m. EDT

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After securing its 15th Southern Conference Tournament Title in improbable fashion just four days ago, the Chattanooga Mocs' softball team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the NCAA Regionals. The team will kick off its NCAA Tournament play with No. 6 and the top seed in the regional, the Alabama Crimson Tide at 4 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 20.

RECAPPING THE SOCON CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Chattanooga won its 15th SoCon Tournament crown in improbable fashion last Saturday. The team was down 7-2 with one out in the seventh inning to top-seeded UNCG, who needed to beat UTC twice to win the title. With two on and one out, Reagan Armour belted her second HR of the day, bringing the Mocs within two. With two outs in the frame, Kaili Phillips stepped up to the dish and delivered a moon shot to left center, tying the game at seven. After Brooke Parrott shut down the Spartans in the bottom half, the game went into the eighth. Adison Keylon took the second pitch of the inning and sent it over the scoreboard. Armour homered once more to add an insurance run before Parrott closed it out in the bottom of the eighth.

CHATTANOOGA'S SEVEN-GAME WINNING STREAK
The Mocs are on a season-best seven-game winning streak. Over the last seven games, the team is hitting .338 with a .624 slugging percentage. The squad has blasted 16 home runs and is outscoring opponents 57-25. Armour (.583) and Keylon (.529) are both hitting above the .500 mark during the span.

MOCS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
Chattanooga is 6-22 all time in its 28 NCAA Tournament games. The last win? A 2-1 win in the 2011 Tuscaloosa Regional over Memphis. That year the team went 2-2 in the regional and ended up losing to Alabama 11-2 in the regional final. The Mocs have made two regional final appearances, 2011 and 2002 in the Tallahassee Regional where the Mocs lost to Florida State 1-0 in eight innings.

ARMOUR SETS SOCON RECORD
Last weekend, Armour was the only player in the nation to hit three home runs in a conference tournament game. The three home runs hit in the SoCon Championship game marked the most in a SoCon Tournament game ever. Armour's .739 slugging percentage leads the conference and leads all players in the Tuscaloosa Regional.
