CHATTANOOGA---Chattanooga Mocs Men's Golf Coach Blaine Woodruff wasted little time getting started. His first major decision is complete with Tuesday's announcement of Nick Robinson as assistant coach.
 
Woodruff and Robinson know each other from Woodruff's experience at Wisconsin. He was an assistant there during Robinson's freshman and sophomore campaigns.
 
"Nick played for me at Wisconsin and assisted a great coach and program there last year," Woodruff began. "I feel fortunate to have him join us, and we're looking forward to the impact he will make on our program. I love Nick's passion for coaching and desire to invest in relationships. He's a great fit for our University and men's golf program."
 
Robinson spent five seasons in Madison competing from the 2017 through 2021 campaigns. He registered a 74.66 career average over 29 tournaments which ranked 10th all-time when he completed his eligibility.
 
His best finishes came while Woodruff was on staff tying for second at the 2017 Charleston Shootout and third at the 2017 Boilermaker Invitational. Robinson earned Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors after tying for ninth in the 2019 White Sand Intercollegiate.
 
"I'd like to thank Coach Woodruff and Chattanooga for this tremendous opportunity." Robinson shared via email. "I am ecstatic to join one of the most history-rich, mid-major golf programs in the country, and assist our student-athletes, on and off the golf course, in any way possible.

Robinson's working career in golf began in 2021 as a USGA Boatwright Operations Intern with Washington Golf. Nine months later, he returned to his alma mater as a volunteer assistant when he helped Griffin Barela and Cameron Huss to earning at large berths to 2022 NCAA Tournament. Barela was a 2022 All-B1G selection.
