CHATTANOOGA---The 12th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs open the 2022 campaign Saturday against Southern Conference rival Wofford. Game time is 6 p.m., at Finley Stadium.
 
Coach Rusty Wright spoke at his first weekly press conference of the year joined by two of the Mocs four team captains. Defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell and offensive lineman McClendon Curtis begin year six in the program joining their head coach who is opening his fourth campaign.

• 62-51-1 (.548) in season openers...76-35-3 (.680) in home openers all-time...14-10 (.583) at Finley Stadium.
• 0-1 when opening the season with a SoCon opponent. Last time? Sept. 4, 2010, a 42-41 loss to No. 3 Appalachian State at Finley.
• Rusty Wright is 3-0 (1.000) opening SoCon play...last time opening league play against Wofford? 24-13 win on Feb. 27, 2021.
