CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs soccer team will head to Tuscaloosa, Ala., Sunday for an evening matchup against No. 11 Alabama at the Alabama Soccer Complex.

CHATTANOOGA vs. ALABAMA
This will be the ninth meeting between the two programs dating back to 2001. The Tide leads the series 6-1-1. The Mocs lone win came in 2004 behind all-time leading scorer Diana Jallo who scored both of UTC's goals in a 2-1 win. She was named to the Soccer Buzz National Team of the Week. The Mocs came away with a 1-1 double-overtime draw in 2019 in Chattanooga.

The teams were scoreless into halftime. The Crimson Tide would find the net in the 58
th minute and hold off the Mocs for the next 20 minutes of play.
Samantha Shaw, taking a pass from Bailey Gale and
AK Anderson, tied the match with Alabama in the 78
th minute.
Abbey Saddler had three saves in the match to secure the draw. Alabama outshot Chattanooga 16-4, but had just four shots on goal in the match.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (2-2-2)
After starting the season with back-to-back losses, Chattanooga has gone unbeaten in its last four matches at 2-0-2. UTC beat Austin Peay 3-0 and North Alabama 2-1 while ending in a 1-1 tie at Georgia State and against Tennessee Tech. The Mocs last scheduled match on Sunday, Sept. 1 vs. Belmont at home was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Clarissa Salinas and
Caroline Richvalsky lead the Mocs in scoring. Salinas leads the team in goals and points and shares top honors in assists with Richvalsky who is second on the team in scoring. Another freshman
Caroline Ekern is unbeaten in goal with a 2-0-2 mark in her four starts.

ABOUT ALABAMA (7-1-1, 1-0 SEC)
The Tide moved into the Top 25 rankings after a win over #18 Clemson at the end of August. Since then Alabama has recorded wins over #6 BYU on the road, tied unranked Utah and posted three straight wins including a 2-0 victory against fifth-ranked South Carolina to start SEC play.

Riley Parker Mattingly has a team-best seven goals in seven starts and leads the team with 15 points. Felicia Knox has a team-best seven assists and 11 points playing in all nine games with eight starts. Five different Tide players have recorded game winners with Parker Mattingly leading the team with three. McKinley Crone has started all nine matches in the net for Alabama. She has four shutouts and combined on a fifth. She has 25 saves (.833 sv%) and allowed just five goals for a 0.59 goals against average.
