BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team competed in some valuable early matches during the opening weekend of fall play at the Samford Fall Invite which ran Friday though Sunday in Birmingham, Ala.
 
Chattanooga battled against conference foes Samford and Mercer in a tight weekend of play in both singles and doubles format. It was a great learning experience for the Mocs who welcomed four newcomers to the lineup.
 
"We really got a lot out of this weekend. The guys hit the courts hard in every singles and doubles match we had," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher.
 
"The energy was strong all weekend, and I was proud of how we attacked the matches. There is a lot to build on for sure, it was a fantastic start to our fall."
