Rocky Jordan

Rocky Jordan and the Chattanooga Mocs scrap with Davidson in the first Southern Conference home match of the 2022-23 campaign.

NOTES | STATS

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs are back on the mat Saturday night in Maclellan Gym starting a 7-match run in Southern Conference action. It begins with Davidson coming to the Scenic City.

It's key matchup for the Mocs who hit the road for the following three matches. Chattanooga (1-0) looks to keep pace with App State (2-0) and Campbell (1-0) in the league title race.

"It's just another weekend with an opportunity to get better," Coach Kyle Ruschell shared. " We just gotta continue to grow in the areas that we're seeing improvement. We need to push the pace, get to our offense, we need to get off bottom and we need to ride. It's super basic, but we have to do those things harder than the other guy at a higher rate, and we'll see success."

The 7 p.m., match broadcasts on ESPN+ with Track live scoring. It's "Salute to Heroes Night" with all veterans, active-duty military, doctors, nurses and first responders receiving free admission. The first 60 fans in attendance get a pair of American Flag sunglasses.

QUOTABLE
"We have to be grateful for what we have. The opportunity to do what we love is because of the people that sacrifice a lot for all of us. Now, our guys sacrifice, but it's not even close to the soldiers, first responders and all of those who put it all on the line for us every day." – Kyle Ruschell on Salute to Heroes Night

"Coach (Nate) Carr is going to have those guys ready to wrestle. He's new to the conference & a really good coach. We have to be ready for a fight." – Ruschell on Davidson
