CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team is set to begin the 2023 spring campaign against SEC-member Alabama on Sunday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
First serve is slated for 5 p.m. ET at the University of Alabama Tennis Facility. The matchup can be streamed LIVE on Track Tennis by clicking the link HERE or by visiting the schedule page.
Chattanooga is coming an 8-16 season in which the squad advanced to the Southern Conference semifinal round after finishing the regular season tied for third in the standings with a 4-3 record.
The team is looking forward to starting the season and seeing where we are at. The four-month sprint begins in Tuscaloosa," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher.
"As far as our opponent goes, Alabama is young but super talented from top to bottom. We have had some close individual matches with them in past years, but we are gearing up for an overall team performance. I know the guys are ready to compete as a team."
Chattanooga is led by seniors Kerim Hyatt and Simon Labbe while boasting four juniors in Gabriel Castillo, Peyton Gatti, Jordan McClure and Quinten Nevenhoven. Sophomore Ryan Mudre and newcomers Cortland Grove, Kristof Kincses and Carter Ramthun round out this year's roster.
Full results from Sunday's dual at Alabama will be available on GoMocs.com following conclusion of play. Live stats, in addition to the live stream above, are available on the schedule page.
