CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs head to South Carolina this weekend to start a 3-match road trip in Southern Conference action. The Mocs are at Presbyterian Friday night before a Sunday matinee at The Citadel.
Â
Every match is key when you enter league bouts. The Mocs are currently one of three unbeaten squads at 2-0 in the SoCon with Appalachian State (3-0) and Campbell (1-0). It's a team trending upward with three wins in the last four matches.
Â
"I told our guys today," Coach Kyle Ruschell shared. "I want to win the battle of starting first. So, when that whistle blows, I want us to be on that guy...make first contact, explode off bottom, keep the guy down right away, and so I want to win that battle to get started in each period. That's what I want to see out of our guys, continue doing the hard things that we've been preaching for the last couple months, but win those starting battles each period, strong."

QUOTABLE
"They're stepping up for the team making weight down at 133, and it's not easy coming down a weight class. They both wrestled 141 at the Scuffle. They're doing it for the team as well as an opportunity for themselves. It's something special to wear that Chattanooga singlet and represent this town, this community, this program and then yourself as well. It's something special, and these guys need to take advantage of it." –

Â
"Matthew's wrestling with confidence. He's following a really good 74 pounder, and I think he see what Rocky's doing and says, 'I can do that too'. It's a good competitive spirit between two guys I think. But ultimately, Matthew is dialed in, he's feeling good and this is some of the best wrestling we've seen out of him." –
