PREVIEW: Wrestling Returns to Duals on the SoCon Road

Logan Andrew

Logan Andrew and the Chattanooga Mocs begin Southern Conference action Friday evening at VMI.

NOTES | STATS

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs are right back in the fray Friday travelling to Lexington, Va. The squad squares off at VMI Friday night at 7 p.m., after a long two days hosting the Southern Scuffle, presented by Compound Sportswear, to start the week.

The Mocs look to build on some positive performances of the fall semester while developing a more consistent approach to its opposition.

"We have a sign in our wrestling room that simply says 'fear no one, respect all'," Coach Kyle Ruschell offered. "We have to go out there and be ready to wrestle from the start. We have to find our offense and get rolling in the right direction the second half of the year."

It's an interesting matchup. The Mocs have 10 duals already on the ledger with a 3-7 mark with matchups entirely against Big Ten, MAC and Pac-12 schools. The Keydets have half of the dual matches focusing more on tournament opportunities in the early going, but the returns are good heading into league matches at 5-0.

The match is slated for a 7 p.m., start. It broadcasts on ESPN+ with live scoring via Track.
