TULSA, Okla. – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team sent four representatives to the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships last weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and concluded the event with three total victories.
Cortland Grove and
Ryan Mudre each notched victories in the opening Round of 256 and advanced to the Round of 128 before eventually bowing out. Grove posted a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Gerhard Sullwald (Grand Canyon) while Mudre registered a 6-2, 6-4 win over Luke Bracks (Wichita State).
Gabriel Castillo added to the win column at the event in consolation action after suffering an opening round defeat to Chikaya Soto (San Diego State). Castillo recorded a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 win over Christopher Norlin (Northern Illinois).
