HISTORIC FRIDAY NIGHT WIN
Chattanooga earned an 81-71 victory at Louisville on Friday night inside the KFC Yum! Center to improve to 2-0. It's the first ACC win for the program since 1985 (Clemson, 1985 NIT), first-ever in regular season play, first-ever on the road (previously 0-18) and just third overall (3-24). UTC led by as much as 21 in the second half to mark the program's largest lead over a P5 opponent since leading by 20 against NC State in the 1982 NCAA Tournament.
MAGIC NUMBERS
After securing the 81-71 win at Louisville, UTC moved to 15-1 under head coach
Dan Earl when scoring 80+. The Mocs also improved to 13-1 under Earl when shooting 40%+ from three after a 41.2% (14-34) effort on Friday.
YOUR HONOR (HUFF)
Honor Huff broke loose in his second-ever game in a UTC uniform during Friday's win at Louisville, scoring a career-high 25 points on a career-high seven made threes to help lead the Mocs.
SAM THE MAN ALEXIS
Big man
Sam Alexis continues the growth in his second season following a dominant 16-point, 11-rebound performance in Friday's win @LOU. Alexis is currently the only player in NCAA DI who is averaging at least 12.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 75% FG or better.
SEE, SHARE, SHOOT
The 2023-24 version of Chattanooga men's basketball is poised to showcase a high-flying, fast-paced, and free-shooting product that collectively competes under a team slogan of "See, Share, Shoot" implemented by the coaching staff.
NEWCOMERS SET THE TONE FOR 2023-24
Many new faces will be in play for Chattanooga this season. 10 total newcomers from the transfer portal, high school signings and walk-ons, will go along with just three returning letter winners to form a fresh roster for coach Earl. Forwards
Demetrius Davis,
Sam Alexis and
Randy Brady are the only returning Mocs who saw action last season, with Davis being the only starter.
