CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Freshman Pitcher
Peja Goold was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Goold, a freshman from Stockton, Calif., made one start with two appearances over the weekend at the Spring Games in Maderia Beach, Fla. She went 7 1/3 innings in Chattanooga's 2-1 extra inning win over Lafayette Sunday morning, striking out a season-high 12 batters.

In Chattanooga's loss to Iowa, she came on in relief, tossing four innings allowing zero runs on two hits. She posted a 0.00 ERA last week and opponents hit just .162 against her.

Chattanooga will return to action Wednesday, March 15 against Princeton at 10:00 a.m. and Lehigh at 12:30 p.m. on the final day of the Spring Games.
