CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs beach volleyball team looks to build upon its four-match winning streak and claim a share of the Ohio Valley Conference lead with the upcoming Scenic City Showdown on Friday and Saturday at the UTC Sports Complex Beach Courts.
 
Chattanooga (8-5, 4-1 OVC) will welcome OVC-leader UT Martin in addition to non-conference opponents Liberty, EKU and Carson-Newman to the Scenic City this weekend.
 
UTC opens play against UTM on Friday at 11 a.m. ET in a match that will impact the top of the regular season OVC standings. The undefeated Skyhawks sit atop the league table at 5-0, just a match ahead of the Mocs.
 
"We have an opportunity to go up against some strong opponents this weekend. UT Martin is leading our conference while EKU is having one of their best years, in addition to Carson-Newman being undefeated and Liberty competing with a lot of common opponents," said head coach Darin Van Horn.
 
"The UT Martin match is important one for us because it counts toward our conference position. Our team is coming off a great league weekend and we're hoping to build off of that."
