Beach Volleyball Returns to Sand This Weekend at Huntingdon Beach Bash

The Chattanooga Mocs beach volleyball program returns to action this weekend in Alabama.

CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs beach volleyball team returns to action this weekend for the Huntingdon College Beach Bash held in Montgomery, Ala., this Friday and Saturday.

Chattanooga (1-3) will face the likes of tournament host Huntingdon College, Jacksonville State and Florida Southern over the two-day event. It'll mark the first ever matchups between UTC and both Huntingdon and Florida Southern while the eighth all-time meeting against JSU.

"It's another opportunity to compete and build off of our weekend at Southern Miss," said head coach Darin Van Horn.

"I know we are itching to play. Maddie Lecik will return to the lineup this weekend and I'm excited to see her and Halle [Olsen]'s collegiate debuts."

The Mocs entered the first weekend of competition at Southern Miss two weekends ago with a limited roster due to injuries. The team had to forfeit the No. 5 pairing before play started and kicked off each match with a 1-0 deficit.

UTC earned its first victory of the season over Spring Hill College in 3-2 fashion back on February 26. The Mocs saw victories at the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 pairings to help clinch the team victory.

Chattanooga will kick things off against JSU on Friday at 3 p.m. ET before a Saturday doubleheader against Florida Southern at 9 a.m. ET and Huntingdon College at 11:30 a.m. ET. Match results and scores will be available following action each day.
