CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs beach volleyball team returns to the sand for another weekend-filled event as the squad travels to Clarksville, Tenn., for the Govs Beach Bash hosted by Austin Peay on Friday and Saturday at the Govs Beach Volleyball Complex.
 
Chattanooga (12-10) will face the hosts twice, once on Friday and once on Saturday, in addition to squaring off against Jacksonville State in the same format. The weekend schedule can be found below.

SERIES HISTORY
Chattanooga is 3-3 all-time against former OVC member Austin Peay over the past two seasons. UTC earned a 3-2 win in the last meeting back on April 28 of last year.
 
Another former OVC member in Jacksonville State, Chattanooga owns a 7-1 all-time record against the Gamecocks including wins in each of the last five meetings. UTC posted a 4-1 win over JSU earlier this season on March 10 in Montgomery.
 
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga looks to bounce back from a pair of non-conference losses last Saturday at North Alabama and improve on its 12-10 overall record this season. The Mocs dropped two 4-1 decisions to UNA and New Orleans during competition in Florence, Ala., last weekend.
 
ABOUT AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay heads into the weekend carrying a similar 12-10 overall record while aiming to snap a current five-match skid. The Govs most recently dropped a tight 3-2 contest at OVC-leading UT Martin on Tuesday. APSU is a perfect 4-0 at home this season.
 
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE
Jacksonville State will look to earn its first win of the 2023 campaign as the team enters play this weekend holding an 0-13-3 record. JSU wraps up regular season play this weekend in Clarksville before turning its attention to the Conference USA Tournament, its first league event as C-USA members, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on April 27-30.
