The University of Chattanooga Athletics Department was recognized by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) yesterday, with the Mocs taking home the Silver Award in Single Game Attendance and Bronze Award in Game Day Promotion at the 2022-23 NACMA "Best Of" Awards.
Chattanooga's Silver Award entry came in Group II of the Single Game Attendance/Sell Out Campaign category, with the submission being the UTC vs. Iowa Battle of the Birds wrestling match. The match, which pitted the Mocs against the top-ranked wrestling program in the country, garnered the highest attendance of the season for UTC wrestling.
UTC's Bronze Award came in the area of Game Day Promotion, with the Mocs taking home Group II's third place honor for the men's and women's basketball teams' 90's Night promotion. Taking place at McKenzie Arena, the promotion helped drive a combined attendance of 5, 101 for the basketball doubleheader, while integrating 90's themed video board content, apparel and in-game promotions into the game.
"It is always rewarding to see our hard work recognized," Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing Ashley Alletto shared. "There are so many people involved in making promotions and events come together."
"I'm just really proud of our team."
UTC has now won a total of 20 NACMA "Best Of" Awards since 2010, with the Mocs' last award coming in 2020.
