MocsVision & Strategic Comms Combine for Awards

The Chattanooga Mocs athletics department received award-winning work from the strategic communication and digital media services areas.

CHATTANOOGA---College Sports Communicators (CSC/formerly known as CoSIDA) announced its end of year awards for work done in 2022-23. The Chattanooga Mocs featured prominently in two categories.

The Mocs earned second place in the Online Magazine/Special Events Programs, University Division. It was for the Southern Scuffle Program with the work matching the national prominence of the premier regular season wrestling event in the country. Deputy A.D. JAy Blackman, Assistant A.D. Leah Gill and Assistant A.D. Jim Horten were cited for their work.

The second mention was a competitive fourth in Pregame/Hype Video, University Division. The crew of Tate Johnson, Abby Walker and Corey Belonzi earned merit for the Jan. 28 women's basketball intro finishing behind Oklahoma football, Little Rock wrestling and BYU men's hoops and just ahead of Hawaii, Kennesaw State, Oklahoma women's basketball and Hawaii women's basketball work.

"It's rewarding to see our departments' work recognized," Horten shared about the honors. "The effort into the Scuffle program includes years of hard work from JAy along with the skill Leah brings in design. MocsVision always knocks the intros out of the park in their video board shows, and this is no exception."
