FROM THE HEAD COACH
"The guys started out on a humid morning with their first 8k of the season. They were able to stay relaxed for the first two loops and work the last 2 big loops. They all worked hard and improved placing over the last 5k. Aaron [Isbell], feeling a little under the weather for the last couple days, still ran exceptionally strong as did freshman
Jack Martin. Both placed in the top 20.
Erik Martinez ran a PR for the distance and freshman
Tristan Gould ran a great first 8k.Â
Caleb Jarrett showed significant progress. We ran well but have some significant improvement to be made."
Â
"The women followed the guys and, despite the increasing heat, they ran very well. Lesley [Green Boyd] finished second overall. She was a little slow off the line and about sixth place after her first mile. She kept an accelerated pace throughout the race. Kathryn [Vradenburgh] and Emma [Russum] also paced their efforts throughout the race. Maddie [Wheatcroft] and Leah [Boyd], coming off injuries, are getting back to form and ran better than expected. Camden [Morris] PR'd again. Lexi [Foley] and Brooke [Tyll] competed hard. Top Five finish for the women's team was very good. I thought it was a good start and we still are going to be getting better."
