LEXINGTON, Va.---The Chattanooga Mocs controlled the VMI Keydets in a 31-13 win at the Virginia post. It was the Southern Conference opening match for both programs.

The Mocs captured five of the first six classes building a 25-3 advantage. The win was actually clinched in a narrow loss at 174.

Chattanooga went 6-4 in bouts today but in a recurring theme, a 13-1 advantage in bonus points set the tone for the win. The squad took 24 of its 31 points at 125, 141, 165 and 197.
Brayden Palmer opened with a forfeit win while
Isaiah Powe (6:17),
Kamdyn Munro (1:21) and
David Harper (1:07) claimed falls.

The Mocs return home for four of the next five matches. Next up is Davidson next Sunday in Maclellan Gym.

- Major Heck…senior is 4-0 at 157 on the year with three consecutive major decisions.
- Munro's fall at 165 is his fourth of the season…three of the four are in duals…tied for team lead with Austin Paradice (157) and Ethan Vergara (285).
- Powe and Munro lead the squad with 13 wins each…joined in double digits by Boarman (11), Castillo (11) and Desiante (10).
- First time in last four matches without a tech fall…14 in the previous three matches.
- Munro (13) is the new team leader in bonus points ahead of Boarman (12) and Harper (12)…Powe (9) and Ty Tice (8) round out top 5.
