SPARTANBURG, S.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs are off and running in the New Year. The squad had the most placers in the Southern Scuffle, four, since 2012 with a program-record three semifinalists. But there's one last look back at 2023 for the Mocs.
 
Redshirt freshman Kamdyn Munro is the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Month for December. He helped Chattanooga to a 3-1 dual mark for the 31-day period. Munro claimed 20 of a possible 24 dual points against Buffalo, Kent State, Little Rock and Queens registering two falls and two major decisions.
 
"Kamdyn has learned a lot about himself over the opening two months of the season," Coach Kyle Ruschell shared. "He is just scratching the surface of what he can become.
 
"We can all see the potential that Kamdyn has; and it is high. He has all the tools to be great, but it is up to him if he does it."

• The last SoCon WOTM for the Mocs was Brayden Palmer last January.
• Munro is tied for the team lead in wins with 10 (Isaiah Powe).
• Munro is tied for second on the squad in falls (3) with Ty Tice (125) and Austin Paradice (157). Ethan Vergara (285) leads with four.
• Munro's 23 dual points earned is second only to Blake Boarman's 26 at 133.

MACLELLAN MATCH DAYS
New this year...the main entrance to Maclellan Gym is on the Vine Street side. All fan seating is in the upper and lower sections there across from the scorer's table.
 
Ticket sales, player pass and public entry are at the corner closest to the University Center on Terrell Owens Way on the campus side of the building. Accessible sales (and entry) and credential access are at the Douglas Street doorway.
