CHATTANOOGA---The 19th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs host the VMI Keydets this weekend on one of the most special days of the season. Homecoming 2024 is on tap with the Mocs deep in the hunt for the Southern Conference crown midway through the season.

Chattanooga is 4-3 overall, 3-1 in the league. Western Carolina, The Citadel and Samford remain on the docket, but first come the Keydets. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m., Saturday at Finley Stadium.

Last year's matchup went down to the wire, a 24-23 thriller in Lexington, Va. The Mocs jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but the Keydets were predictably resilient fighting back losing by a mere point. The play of the game was during the final drive. The Mocs were able to run out the clock converting a 3rd-and-five with a 19-yard swing pass from Chase Artopoeus to Gino Appleberry.

Coach Rusty Wright talked about last year's matchup as well as this one during this week's press conference in the Wolford Center. Junior running back Reggie Davis followed as did junior kicker Jude Kelley, SoCon Special Teams Player of the Week for back-to-back honors.
