CHATTANOOGA (October 30, 2024) --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's and women's basketball programs dazzled fans and trick-or-treaters during another successful edition of the annual "Boo & Gold" preseason event held inside McKenzie Arena on Tuesday night.
The free fan event kicked off with a trick-or-treat session around the concourse with kids in their Halloween best receiving sugar rush materials from various UTC groups including other athletic programs and campus organizations.
Following the candy and treat handouts, fans made their way to the McKenzie Arena seats to officially meet the 2024-25 rosters for both the men's and women's programs. Each student-athlete greeted the crowd with their own song selections and unique entrance acts.
Local 3 News Sports Director Ben Bobick handled celebrity emcee duties as he opened basketball activities with on-court commentary during a three-point and half-court competition between the two teams. Other events included a full-length putting contest and a special 'Candy Land' game featuring UTC students in attendance.
The basketball portion of the event wrapped up with a high-flying dunk contest from the men's program that saw freshman newcomer
Isaiah Otyaluk earn bragging rights over teammates
Noah Melson and
Makai Richards. Fans and kids then made their way back to the concourse as both programs held an autograph and picture-taking session before hitting the exits.
