Soccer Takes on Top-Seeded Catamounts Sunday in Semifinal

CULLOWHEE, N.C. --- Chattanooga's women's soccer team is set to take on top-seeded Western Carolina Sunday afternoon in Cullowhee, N.C., in the semifinal round of the 2024 Southern Conference Championships.

MOCS vs. WESTERN CAROLINA
The Catamounts lead the series 14-9-3 all in the regular season. This is the first meeting between the two programs in the postseason. On the road, UTC trails the series 4-8. WCU has won three of the last four meetings with UTC claiming six of the last 10 including a five-game win streak.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
Western Carolina won 1-0 in the season-finale for both teams on Oct. 27 in Chattanooga. The teams were nearly even on shots with the Catamounts edging UTC 11-10 on shots. The Mocs and Catamounts battled more than 73 minutes to keep each other out of the goal. It would be in the 74th minute that Western Carolina buried a shot to come away with the win.

Mocs in the Chattanooga Record Book
• Caroline Richvalsky is seventh on the Mocs career list with 42 points. She has 17 career goals, tied for seventh, and 11 assists, eighth all-time. She is tied for fourth all-time with 183 shots taken.
• Zoey Mize is tied for fourth on UTC's all-time list with 13 assists, five off UTC's all-time mark. Her seven assists this season is also tied for fourth on the single season list. She tallied two assists in the Mocs win over The Citadel, marking the second time in her career that she has aided two goals in the same game.
• Caroline Ekern second on UTC's career list for wins with 23 and tied for third with 14 shutouts. She is fifth with a 1.18 career goals-against average and tied for fith for saves (167). Her 1.19 goals against average this season is currently 10th on the single season list.

• Zoey Mize is 55th for assists per game (0.41) and 53rd in the NCAA for total assists with seven. She assisted on five of Caroline Richvalsky's six goals and had two against The Citadel (Sophia Mize, Sylvie Keck).
• Caroline Richvalsky is 34th for shots per game at 3.83 and 37th for shots on goal per game with 1.83 per game. She is 148th in the NCAA for goals total goals with seven.
• Clarissa Salinas is tied with 329 players this year so far for penalty kicks. She is 1-for-1 with the game-tying PK against Georgia State. The Mocs are one of 137 teams to hit all PK attempts.
