CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Chattanooga softball hosts Jacksonville State Wednesday in a brief return home after wrapping up its final tournament of the regular season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Frost Stadium.

ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE
• The Gamecocks are 10-18 overall and 0-3 in Conference USA action after falling to Liberty in a three-game weekend series. JSU beat SoCon foe Samford 4-3 last week in Birmingham, Ala., and has a 3-2 win over Furman at the Bulldog Classic in Athens, Ga. JSU scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead and held off the Paladins who scored two runs in the top of the seventh.

• JSU is hitting .251 as a team and led by Emma Jones-Hubbard at .326 through 28 games. She has a team-best 29 hits that includes nine doubles the three triples. Lindsey Richardson leads the Gamecocks with seven home runs on 27 hits and has 30 RBI. Sarah Currie has a team-best 3.50 ERA with a 2-3 record. Jaliyah Holmes has a team-best 35 strikeouts and threw a perfect game against Murray State at the Chattanooga Challenge on February 16.

• Chattanooga shut out the Gamecocks 4-0 on Feb. 21 in Jacksonville, Ala.
Taylor Long got her fourth win of the year, going four innings in the circle and allowing just one hit. She struck out three and walked three.
Alyssa Lavdis came on in relief, getting her first save of the season. She struck out two in three innings and did not allow a walk while giving up one hit. The Mocs put three runs on the board in the first starting with an RBI single to left field off the bat of
Olivia Lipari.
Kaili Phillips hit a two-run shot to left center in the opening frame to make it 3-0.
Kendall Forsythe, making her first start of the season at first, hit a deep shot to center field for the Mocs fourth and final run of the game. UTC had six hits in the game with two walks and a stolen base.

TOP NOTES
• In Tournament play this season, the Mocs swept the Chattanooga Classic (5-0) and the Adam Brown Memorial Shamrock Classic (4-0). UTC won four out of five games at The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla., and are 16-8 in tournament action. The Mocs lone single game was a 4-0 win over Jacksonville State.
• Chattanooga is hitting a SoCon best .304 this season with 197 hits, 110 RBI, 121 runs scored, 20 home runs, three triples and 37 doubles. The Mocs have reached base on balls 75 times and been hit 23 while striking out 123 times in 649 at bats. The team has 32 stolen bases, 10 sac flies and 31 sac bunts.
• The Mocs pitching staff has a 3.78 ERA led by
Taylor Long at 2.59. She has 70 strikeouts,
Alyssa Lavdis has 47 and
Peja Goold has 23. The staff has six shutouts and seven complete games and a .235 opponent batting average.

Frank Reed has more than 1,200 wins in his 34-year career. He won 476 (11 years) at Chattanooga State and has 733 (23rd season) with the Mocs totaling 1209 career wins. He ranks 38
th among active coaches in the NCAA for Division I wins.
