CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga beach volleyball team ended its home OVC Weekend a perfect 4-0 following yet another pair of sweeps on Sunday, with the Mocs downing Lindenwood and Tennessee Tech in 5-0 fashion.
The Mocs opened their day against Lindenwood, where they quickly dispatched Lindenwood before capping off the tournament weekend with a 5-0 sweep of TTU under the lights of the UTC Sports Complex. The Mocs now sit at 6-8 on the season, while holding a 4-1 OVC record.
"Another strong showing by our team," head coach Darin Van Horn said. "We had moments of adversity and challenges within our pairs and individuals, and we responded the right way and competed well on our home courts. Proud of what we were able to accomplish but still eager to sharpen a few aspects of the game."
UTC's next matches will come April 5-6, with the Mocs welcoming UT Martin, Austin Peay, Tusculum and Carson-Newman to town for the Scenic City Showdown.
Chattanooga vs. Lindenwood – W, 5-0
The Mocs opened their day against Lindenwood, who entered the contest with the Mocs in a tie for the OVC's second place spot. Both the 4's and 5's got UTC off on the right foot with a pair of two-set victories. The Court 3 pairing of Joy Courtright and Maddie Lecik then clinched the match for Chattanooga, quickly grabbing a 21-16, 21-13 win for the Mocs. UTC's No. 1 pairing would also win in two sets, while the No. 2 pairing of McKenna Faychak and Gylian Finch would need three sets to ultimately secure the sweep for the Mocs.

Chattanooga vs. Tennessee Tech – W, 5-0
Riding the momentum of three prior sweeps on the weekend, UTC was able to close out the OVC Weekend on a perfect note by securing one last 5-0 sweep over Tennessee Tech Saturday evening. Once again the 4's and 5's provided strong starts to the night, with each pairing taking home sweep wins yet again. In this match. It was Neva Clark and Corina Vale on Court 1 that would serve as the clincher for UTC, swiftly snatching a 21-10, 21-11 W to seal the win for Chattanooga. The cherry on top of the match came in the form of two more sweep wins on Courts 2 and 3, lifting the Mocs past the Golden Eagles 5-0, with UTC failing to drop a single set in the match.
