CHATTANOOGA SOFTBALL TAKES ON UNC GREENSBORO IN WEEKEND ROAD SERIES
 
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs softball team looks to hold onto its lead in the Southern Conference with a three-game series against third-place UNCG in Greensboro, N.C.
 
The Mocs are tied with Mercer at 7-2 in the Southern Conference standings. Both are one game ahead of the Spartans who were swept last weekend at Samford to move to 6-3 on the year.

CHATTANOOGA (26-10, 7-2 SoCon)
The Mocs went 1-2 against Wofford after sweeping Samford and ETSU in league play. UTC leads the conference in wins, batting average, sacrifice hits and many other categories. Kendall Forsythe leads the Mocs in batting average and is second in the conference standings. Taylor Long has a SoCon-best 11 wins and boasts a 2.19 ERA.
 
UNC GREENSBORO (24-17, 6-3 SoCon)
The Spartans started league play with back-to-back sweeps of ETSU and Furman before fall in three at Samford. Brooklyn Maxwell sits atop the league with a .410 batting average. She has 35 RBI on 40 hits that includes 11 doubles, five triples and 12 home runs. The team is hitting .271 overall. The pitching staff, led by Salem Ward with a 1.72 ERA has a combined 3.20 ERA with 10 complete games, two shutouts and three saves.

• Chattanooga is currently tied with Mercer (7-2) for the SoCon lead.
• Back-to-back sweeps. The Mocs swept Samford on the road and then took care of business at home with a three-game sweep of ETSU.
• Another sweep! Taylor Long earned her third SoCon Pitcher of the Week honor and Kailey Snell was named the league's Player of the Week. Snell was also named the TSWA Softball Player of the Week.
• Chattanooga leads the SoCon in wins, batting average, hits, doubles, hit by pitch, on base percentage, sac flies, sac hits, shutouts, fewest hits allowed, fewest runs allowed, most strikeouts, and lowest opponent batting average.
• Kaili Phillips leads the SoCon in hit by pitch (12) and is ranked second on the active career leaders list in the NCAA with 55. She owns the Mocs career record with 44. Camryn Cernuto has 13 sac bunts, the most in the league. Taylor Long has a SoCon-best 11 wins and 104 strikeouts, 32 looking. Long also has a SoCon-low .184 opponent batting average.
