Chattanooga's Kaili Phillips climbed through the Mocs record books in just three seasons and will continue her softball career playing for the Chattanooga Steam.
 
The Mocs infielder played every game in 2024 at the hot corner for UTC. She was a two-time All-Conference selection, named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team in 2024 and received the Pinnacle Award for the student-athlete on the championship team with the highest grade point average.
 
Phillips was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, a two-time SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week, SoCon Player of the Month and Player of the Week and named the Softball Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
 
The Ooltewah, Tenn., native led the Mocs with 15 home runs this season, third most in a season by a Chattanooga player, and had a team-best .361 batting average. She led UTC with 14 doubles, recorded two triples and was third on the team with 40 runs batted in.
 
Phillips led the Southern Conference with a .799 slugging percentage and a .497 on-base percentage. She was third in the league for home runs and fifth in batting average.
 
The Steam, coached by Marty McDaniel, opened the season at home with the Coca-Cola Scenic City Cup. In July, the Steam will head to Oklahoma City, home of the Women's College World Series, Bradenton, Fla., and Long Island, N.Y.
