Soccer Takes on Tennessee in Knoxville Sunday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's soccer team remains on the road to take on the University of Tennessee Sunday evening at Regal Soccer Stadium in Knoxville. The match is set to kick off at 6:00 p.m.
 
CHATTANOOGA vs. TENNESSEE
The Lady Vols hold a 6-0 advantage over UTC. The first meeting between the two programs was in Knoxville in 1996. This will be the fourth game played between the two in Knoxville.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
The last time the two teams met was in 2021 in Chattanooga. UTK won 3-0. Mackenzie Smith had a team-best two shots of the six fired off by the Mocs. Abbey Saddler tallied nine saves in the match.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (0-0-1)
The Mocs bookended the season opener at Georgia State with a pair of goals. Caroline Richvalsky pushed in the ball off a deflected corner kick from Zoe Mize to put UTC up 1-0 in the 19th minute. Georgia State answered with a pair of second half goals to take the lead, but Clarissa Salinas connected on a penalty in the 89th minute to secure a tie in the first game of the season.
 
ABOUT TENNESSEE (0-1)
The Lady Vols suffered a 1-0 loss to Indiana in the season opener Thursday. The Hoosiers outshot Tennessee 10-7 with both tallying four shots on goal. Kate Runyon led the way with three shots, two on goal for the Lady Vols.
