KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --- Chattanooga fell 2-0 at Tennessee Sunday evening in women's soccer action at the Regal Soccer Stadium. The Mocs fall to 0-1-1 and the Lady Vols improve to 1-1.

Caroline Ekern and the Mocs defense kept UT out of the net in the first half with three saves. However, a pair of second half goals for the Lady Vols was the difference.

The first goal was scored in the 64
th minute on a shot sent into the box and the second came with 15 seconds left in the game, just over the reach of Ekern.

Ekern finished with four saves and
Paige Thomas came away with the Mocs lone shot, on goal, in the second half.

Each team had two yellow cards in the physical and UTK had five corner kicks to the Mocs one. Tennessee got off 17 shots to Chattanooga's one, with six on goal.

"We faced top-level opponents to challenge ourselves before SoCon play," Mocs head coach
Gavin McKinney said. "It pushes us to elevate every aspect of our game. Tonight's match had many bright spots, and our foundation is strong. We're excited for our next match."

Chattanooga remains on the road to take on Austin Peay Thursday evening in Clarksville, Tenn. The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.
