Soccer Hosts VMI on Senior Day Sunday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's soccer team closes out the regular season at home Sunday afternoon with a 1:00 p.m. match against VMI. Prior to kickoff, the Mocs will bid farewell to seven seniors on Senior Day.

SENIOR DAY
Chattanooga will honor seniors Caroline Ekern, Abbey Marak, Zoey Mize, Caroline Richvalsky, Clarissa Salinas, Nicole Solete and Brenna Swiger. The Mocs claimed their first SoCon regular season title during their freshman campaign and several are now among the leaders in the Chattanooga record books.
 
CHATTANOOGA vs. VMI
Chattanooga holds a slight 6-5-2 edge against the Keydets. The series is tied in Chattanooga at 3-3-1. UTC has won the last six and unbeaten in seven of the last eight.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
The Mocs beat VMI 3-1 in Lexington last season extending its win streak to four games. VMI scored first, getting a goal in the second minute. Caroline Richvalsky scored the equalizer in the 17th minute and assisted on Sophia Mize's goal just before halftime. Clarissa Salinas, who assisted on the first goal, drove home the third of the match in the 78th minute. Nicole Solete assisted on Mize's goal.
 
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (8-4-4, 2-2-3 SoCon)
• Mocs are fifth in the Southern Conference standings with nine points.
• Chattanooga leads the conference with 31 goals and has allowed 19.
• Caroline Richvalsky leads the Mocs with 22 points. She has a team-high eight goals and six assists. She is ranked in the Top 4 in four categories over her career at UTC including third for assists.
• Caroline Ekern is UTC's all-time leader for wins (31) and shutouts (19).
 
ABOUT VMI (1-14-1, 0-7-0 SoCon)
• The Keydets have not tallied a win or tie in league play this season.
• VMI has scored 10 goals so far while allowing 53.
• Mackenzie Hobik leads the team with two goals and two assists for four points.
• Maren Ryberg has started 15 games in net and has 101 saves with one shutout.
