The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team finished 10th at the Fallen Oak Collegiate against another strong field to complete the fall portion of the schedule. The squad ended the 3-day event with 292 for a 54-hole total of 867 (+3). That put the Mocs one shot behind Mississippi State in ninth and two ahead of Southern Miss in 11th on
Fallen Oak at Beau Rivage.

Breakdown

• 3 over is the low 54-hole score vs par this season. 867 is behind 858 (+18) at the season-opening Visit Knoxville Collegiate for best total.
• 3 over at the turn before coming in at 1 over on the back side.
• Ward Harris and Ethan Whitaker had the par or better cards with matching 1-under 71s. Griffin Law added 74 to the counting total while Evan Rogers and Conner Brummitt each carded 76s.
• Harris's 5-under 211 ties for his best 54-hole score with the 2024 Colleton River Collegiate. He set new 18 and 36-hole bests during the event.
• There were a season-high eight par or better rounds this week with Harris and Whitaker doing it all three days and Law twice.
• 42 birdies on the counting card for the week. Harris led with 14, while Rogers was next with 12.
• Whitaker and Law played par or better on 87.0 percent (47/54) of their holes.
• How good was this field? There were six top 20 teams and 13 of the 14 ranked among the top 100 in the country including the Mocs.
• Harris beat 10 golfers in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Highest ranked win? No. 9 Michael La Sasso from Ole Miss by two shots.

We've hung with some great teams that'll most likely make match play. We just need to keep building this offseason. We are on the right trajectory.
