CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga men's and women's cross country teams are headed to the Southern Conference Championships held at the Tryon Equestrian Center in Tryon, N.C. The women's 5-kilometer race begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the men's 8K at 10:45 a.m.

"Both teams have been training well this last month, and we are looking for some big breakthroughs at the SoCon Championships this Saturday!" said head coach
Steve Picucci. "This will be the first time the SoCon meet has been held at the Tryon Equestrian Center, which creates a bit of an unknown for all the teams but I know we will be ready for whatever the course has for us."

Maddie Wheatcroft leads a group of nine women in the early race. She placed ninth last season, earning all-conference second team honors with a personal record time. Joining her on the pitch is

Emma Thweatt and
Audrey Wade.

Jack Martin who earned all-conference first team honors in 2024. Also making the trip for the Mocs is Derek Mithcell,

Isaac Atwood.
