CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2025 campaign with a strong showing at the NCAA South Region Championships on Friday with both nabbing Top 20 finishes in a deep field featuring some of the nation's top programs.

"It was great to have both teams in the Top 20 today," Mocs head coach
Steve Picucci said. "Also proud of the way everyone competed today."

WOMEN | 20TH | 531 points
The Mocs posted a team score of 531 points, led by senior
Maddie Wheatcroft, who crossed the line in 58th place with a time of 20:51.71.

The Mocs battled through a deep field that featured SEC and ACC powerhouses, with Florida claiming the team title (52 points), followed by Tennessee (101) and Alabama (125). Chattanooga finished ahead of several Division I programs, including FIU, Southern Miss, and East Tennessee State.

The race featured powerhouse programs, with Alabama claiming the team title with 37 points, followed by Ole Miss (75) and Georgia (77). Chattanooga finished ahead of Mercer, Florida Gulf Coast, and several other Division I programs in the 27-team field.

The NCAA South Region Championships marked the conclusion of the 2025 cross country season for the Mocs, who now turn their focus to the indoor track season.
