It was a brutal scoring day at an difficult tact as the Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team shot 314 in opening play at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills. The 26-over score puts the good guys in 11th which is one behind host Marquette, UAB, Rutgers and Wisconsin in a tie for seventh. Chattanooga is three ahead of Florida in 12th.
Breakdown
- It was a tough day all around. The average score? 79.55. The Mocs counting cards averaged 78.50.
- The Mocs average was 79.83 covering all six competing.
- Braidech was simply fabulous. He was two under at the turn and got to 3 under before battling through the end of the front side (the Mocs back 9) for his 73 total. No golfer shot under par today.
- Griffin Law (80), Dalton Burts (80) and Evan Rogers (81) closed out the counting cards. Ethan Whitaker was one back with 82, while Conner Brummitt shot 83 as an individual.
- The squad managed seven birdies on the day with Braidech's three leading the way.
