SETTING THE SCENE
- The Chattanooga Mocs lost a 35-28 decision to Western Carolina Saturday afternoon in Finley Stadium…Mocs are 4-5, 3-2 in the league, while the Catamounts move to 6-3, 5-0 in conference play.
- Snaps Mocs 3-game win streak…sixth win in a row for the Catamounts.
- 4th straight series win for Western...the wins are by a total of 16 points (4.0/game).
- 51st matchup with the Catamounts, third-longest series: 59-The Citadel, 55-Furman & 50-Samford..played at Samford last weekend and have the Paladins next week.
- 15-3 after the last four midseason byes for the program: 2-1 (2025), 5-0 (2024), 3-1 (2022) & 5-1 (2021).
- 61-31-4 all-time in Homecoming matchups. 6-3 vs. Western Carolina.
- Game captain: QB Camden Orth…8th straight game serving as a captain, fourth time alone…Chattanooga won and deferred... 2-4 when winning toss, 2-1 when losing it.

TEAM NOTES
- Hard-fought game with 399 yards of total offense for Chattanooga compared to 356 for their visitors.
- 158 of those yards came on the ground with 241 in the air.
- Both teams averaged less than four yards per carry with 3.3 for the Mocs and 3.9 for the Cats.
- Only FCS team to hold Western to fewer than 400 yards of offense…Cats season low came at Wake Forest (238).
- Entered the game 4th in the nation in red zone offense scoring on 95.2 percent of entries…went 4-6 tonight (66.7%)…both misses ended with turnovers both on interceptions.
- 37:20-22:40 in time of possession…largest margin this season.
- -2 on takeaways (2/0)…both on interceptions.
- The Catamounts entered leading the nation in passing yards per game (340.0)…limited to 225 yards today on 18 of 29 passing.
- Western led the league and was second nationally in completion percentage (71.9%)…completed 62.1 percent today.
- Three rushing TDs for the Mocs…that's 10 over the last four contests.
- 25 first downs is second-highest total of the season (26-ETSU)…six of those were by penalty as the Cats were flagged 11 times for 107 yards.
- Ran 75 plays to 63 for the Catamounts…that's a season low for Western's high tempo attack.
- Both teams were good on third down, offensively…the Mocs were nine of 16 (56.3%) while the Cats were seven of 12 (58.3%).
- Chattanooga was 2-2 of fourth down while Western was 1-3…both had one TD on the drives with a fourth down conversion…the Mocs second came on the final effort that ended with a turnover.
 
PLAYER NOTES
- QB Camden Orth threw for 241 yards connecting on 15 of 27 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions…291 yards total offense adding in 50 rushing yards on 16 carries with another score.
- Orth now has 4,991 yards of total offense for his career…2,043 are in his eight games at Chattanooga (1,825-LIU/1,123-Bowling Green).
- RB Ryan Ingram hit two milestones during his 15-carry, 60-yard, 1-TD performance….his 9th rush was No. 500 for his career and the TD is the 25th rushing.
- Ingram's career numbers include 506 carries for 2,460 yards and 25 scores.
- RB Justus Durant also found the end zone…8-yard fourth quarter dart was the 21st of his career…17 rushes for 48 yards…now has 2,254 yards on 446 carries and 21 scores.
- WR Markell Quick topped the 1,000-yard mark for his career…passed it on his 58-yard second quarter catch…ended up with three catches for a career-high 126 yards.
- WR Josh Williams led the squad with five receptions totaling 72 yards…all five catches resulted in first downs with two converting third downs and another a fourth.
- Nine tackles for LB Zion Rutledge…leads the Mocs with 75 stops on the season.
- Rutledge had the lone sack good for a 23-yard loss coming on Taron Dickens' intentional grounding on fourth down in the third quarter…Mocs scored on the ensuing possession that started at midfield.
- Fellow linebacker Amanuel Dickson made five tackles including a half for loss and a forced fumble thwarting another Western fourth down attempt.
- CB KJ Sejour had four stops and a pass breakup…that's a team-best nine this season…he needs two more to crack the season top 10 last done by Jordan Jones (11) in 2019.
- CB Jeremiah Batiste and S Kaelin Drakeford both had a pass breakup as well.
