Volleyball Suffers Sweep at UNCG on Saturday

The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team dropped its final leg of a two-match road trip on Saturday against the Spartans.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (November 1, 2025) --- The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-21) decision to UNCG on Saturday afternoon during Southern Conference action inside Fleming Gymnasium in Greensboro, N.C.

Following the defeat, Chattanooga drops to 13-11 overall and 7-5 in SoCon play. UNCG completes the season sweep over Chattanooga and improves its overall record to 14-9 and SoCon mark to a similar 7-5 record.

Set 1 - UNCG 27, Chattanooga 25
- Both teams exchanged the first 14 rallies of the match to lock into a 7-7 tie.
- UNCG grabbed a slight three-point lead, 15-12, at media timeout of the first set on the help of a brief 3-1 scoring run.
- Chattanooga rallied for seven of the next 10 points as a Gracie Rose kill and team block from Chiara Napoli and Kynli Kirkendoll gave the Mocs a 19-18 lead.
- The two teams found themselves tied at each point down the stretch before UNCG earned the set with a UTC attack error and Allie Sweet kill.

Set 2 - UNCG 25, Chattanooga 22
- UNCG built an 8-5 lead in the early stages of the second set before the teams exchanged points through the media timeout as the Spartans led 15-12.
- The Spartans lead grew to five, 18-13, and forced Chattanooga into a timeout following a service ace.
- The Mocs cut the deficit to two on a few separate occasions down the stretch before UNCG ultimately secured a 25-22 set win and 2-0 lead in the match.

Set 3 - UNCG 25, Chattanooga 21
- Chattanooga flipped the script in the third set and created a quick 8-5 lead following a tandem block from Jordin Glass and Kendyl MacAskill.
- The Mocs led 15-11 at the media timeout after rolling on a 5-1 scoring run during that stretch.
- UNCG battled back to cut its deficit to one, 18-17, before sparking its run after sitting on a 20-18 deficit. UNCG completed the match sweep with a 7-1 scoring run to notch the 25-21 set victory.
