Two Similar Paths
The Mocs started 1-4, while the Terriers had a frustrating 0-5 start. Since, both have turned their seasons around to enter the contest at 5-6, 4-3 in league play. With a .500 season on the line and winning conference record, both have plenty to play for as they got here in different ways.
Â
Chattanooga's path was heavy on competition. There were three top 10 programs on the docket as well as an FBS Bowl team that was ranked for a good portion of the season in Memphis. Wofford was a hard-luck team in its start. Its five FCS losses are by a combined
12 points. The Terriers are as terribly close to a SoCon Championship as they are to being level on wins and losses.
Â
Recent History
The Mocs are the winningest program in the SoCon over last 15 conference schedules both in wins (73) and win percentage (.646/73-40). Samford (66-50), Furman (65-51) and Wofford (62-52) also have 60+ wins, while Mercer (.585), Samford (.569), Furman (.560) & the Terriers (.544) are also above .500 over that span.
Â
It's quite a turnaround from the 75 wins over the previous 27 league campaigns (1984-2010). Both
Rusty Wright and Russ Huesman have 33 wins over the resurgence of the program.

3 Notes to Know
- As noted in the preview story, RB Ryan Ingram started his career at Wofford becoming the 16th Terrier to record 2,000 career rushing yards. He has the unique opportunity to put a stamp in the Mocs record books. A 100-yard day for him would be the fifth different rusher with one this season joining Justus Durant, Camden Orth, Journey Wyche and Solomon Locke. There have never been five in school history as the 1977 quartet of Gwain Durden, Mike Smith, Allen Johnson & I.V. Reeves also turned the trick.
- Keep an eye out on the return game. The Mocs have three punt/kick return TDs this season with two from AJ Little and one by Markell Quick. A fourth is a program best as Jerry Ellison had three kickoff return TDs in 1992.
- The defensive front recorded multiple sacks in 44 of Wright's 75 games to date. 445 tackles for loss & 165 sacks over that timeframe.
