Men’s Tennis’ Cortland Grove & Jakub Jupa Slotted No. 17 in ITA Division I National Doubles Rankings

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s tennis doubles team of Jakub Jupa and Cortland Grove earn a spot among Division I’s best after an incredible fall campaign.

TEMPE, Ariz. (November 25, 2025) – After a stellar and historic fall season, the Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis doubles team of Cortland Grove and Jakub Jupa checks in at No. 17 in the latest Division I Men's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Doubles Rankings, the association announced on Tuesday morning.

Grove and Jupa are the highest ranked (by 44 spots) among the four Southern Conference tandems represented among the nation's top 90. The ranking marks the highest national (final) ranking for a Chattanooga doubles team in program history and highest since Mark Gurr and Andy Kim (No. 36; 1987) as the current ITA rankings reflect the final fall release until the spring season.

Grove and Jupa recorded a historic runner-up finish at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships in October to help create the much-deserved national attention. The duo comes in one spot behind No. 16 Aleksa Krivokapic and Maj Premzl of Purdue, the same duo who earned the Ohio Valley regional title, as the two highest ranked teams from the region.

Adding substance to the 'historic' fall season for Grove and Jupa, the duo became just the second in program history to finish runner-up in the main draw doubles format of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional event with the last occurring in 2021 (Peyton Gatti/Tomas Rodriguez). The two earned a selection to the ITA South Sectional Championships earlier this month.
