Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening statement after 74-70 loss to SEMO.
"Yeah, obviously another difficult day. You can point to a lot of different things. We obviously made some shots in the first half and in the second half, we had some point-blank layups and easy looks but just didn't make enough. I'm a little more concerned about guys not doing what's asked. So, I have to do a better job about getting the guys to do what's asked. We will get better at that. We continue to stress our offensive rebounding. We are losing the battle for shot attempts and offensive rebounds. They had 11, we had four, and then turnovers, which we usually take care of the ball. They had 11 turnovers, we had 12 turnovers. So with all that, they had eight more shots attempts than we did. If you're not shooting the ball particularly well, we can't do that to ourselves."
On trying to match SEMO's physicality.
"Yeah, I'd have to watch the film and know for sure, but I think their physicality bothered us. We're running a little different stuff, but sometimes we get caught going east-west instead of north-south. In the second half, first half a little too, I thought Jordan [Frison] did a good job of driving the ball. We had some point-blank layups that we either missed or had one blocked or two. That was a big part of it along with the free throws, but they were physical and we have to be smarter in our execution."
On dealing with injuries and mixing rotations.
"I mean, we have those conversations all the time. It absolutely has to be next man up. It's not only when you have the injury portion of it, everyone has to worry about their role and what positive impact they can have on the team. We need guys to, if you're supposed to offensive rebound, grab some offensive rebounds. If you're supposed to be a tough guy on defense, then you have to go compete physically. We don't have enough guys guys doing all the things that they have to do to positively impact the game."

On getting things back on track as a team.
"I have to say it starts with practice. I mean, that's the place where you get better. You can't take off. You have to be 100 percent in everything you do. I think we've had some really, really good practices, and then we've had some ones that are not as sharp. It should never be up and down and back up like that. It has to be 100 percent the whole time, whether that's in practice or not, we have to lock in the whole time."
