CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs fought through an odd day at the Battle at Briar's Creek. The squad had to sit through a 3-hour fog delay in the morning before the field tackled as many holes as possible on the day completing the opening 18 before the second was suspended by darkness.
The group shot 295 after the delay. That 7-over total was led by
Camden Braidech's even-par 72.
Braedon Wear and
Garrett Engle each tallied 73s with
Aidan Cohl completing the team score with 77.
Ethan Whitaker's 79 was the drop score.
Dalton Chuna and
Carson Johnson are playing in the satellite individual event, The Stono. Chuba shot 77 and 76 for his 36 holes, while Johnson opened with 80 and closed with 73. They're tied at 153.
They return Tuesday morning in hopes of an 8:45 a.m., start. The field will complete round two and roll right into the final 18. The individual times are not currently available, but they just have 18 remaining.

Chip Shots
- The Mocs were 3 under over the opening holes on the counting cards. The squad led off on 5-8 in the shotgun start.
- The back nine took a bite out of that early momentum. Braidech's 2-over 38 was the best number on that side playing it at 16 over.
- They recovered to shoot 6 under coming in. There were four birdies on the first hole alone. Wear was 3 under on his final five holes with Braidech, Engle and Cohl all 1 under with Whitaker at even.
- The counting cards were 9 under on holes 1-9.
- The squad had an eagle and 12 birdies in round one. That's the seventh time this season with 13 or more under par holes on the counting cards. Played par or better on 79.2 percent of their holes.
- Braidech's 72 was his fifth par or better card of the season. That leads the team. He had three birdies, 15 pars and three bogeys.
- Engle and Wear each led the Mocs with four birdies today.
