Chattanooga handed Gardner-Webb its first shutout of the year with a 6-0 one-hitter Sunday afternoon at Brinkley Field on the GWU campus.

Peja Goold struck out 12 in a complete game with just one hit, a bunt single in the fourth, to improve to 7-3 on the year. She struck out 31 over the weekend and picked up three wins.

Chattanooga got the scoring started in the second with a pair of runs.
Jayce Purdy had an infield single with one out then
Raven Jones doubled down the left field line to put runners at second and third.
Lexi Cooley drew a walk to load the bases for pinch-hitter
Baileigh Pitts. The runners were all moving on her ground out to second, sending Purdy home for the first run of the game.

Abi Bunt had a pinch-hit single through the left side sending Jones home to give the Mocs a 2-0 lead.

Olivia Lipari sent a fly ball to right center that hit off the outfielder's glove and rolled to the fence. She never broke stride, racing around the bags and headed to home. The catcher dropped the ball, allowing Lipari to score and the Mocs went up 3-0.

Acelynn Sellers walked in the next at bat for UTC and
Presley Williamson was hit by a pitch to put two runners on with two outs. Purdy singled to short to load the bases and Jones drew a walk to plate Chattanooga's fourth run.

With bases still loaded, Cooley singled through the left side sending home Purdy and pinch-runner
Abby Orr for the fifth and sixth runs of the game.

Purdy went 2-for-4 and scored two runs. Cooley was 1-for-2 with two RBI and two walks. Bunt, Jones and Pitts each had an RBI.

The Mocs improve to 13-7 on the year after posting a 5-0 mark over the weekend. That ran Chattanooga's win streak to 11 games.
