RALEIGH, N.C. --- Chattanooga distance runner
Lesley Boyd set a massive personal best time in the women's 10,000 meter run and broke a 19-year-old program record at the same time.

The day got started in the mid-afternoon for Chattanooga, however, with
Maddie Wheatcroft in the women's 1500 meter run. She ran a season-best time in the 1500 meter run. She finished fourth in her heat with a time of 4:30.77.

"It turned out to be a tactical race," Mocs assistant coach
Patrick Gildea said. "She displayed strong skills and finished really well."

In the nightcap under the lights, Boyd worked her way through the field and finished 15
th overall with a personal best time of 33:23.12, breaking Shannon Wommack's program record 33:34.29 time set in 2006.

Boyd previous best time was 34:28.85 set at the Raleigh Relays in 2023.

"Lesley did a great job clicking off splits and working her way through the field," Gildea said. "It capped a very successful weekend in Raleigh and now we look to keep the momentum rolling from the Tar Heel State to the Peach State where a large contingency of women will compete at Emory."
