Opening statement after 28-10 defeat.
"Yeah, um, not, not good enough tonight. Especially when you make that many mistakes. We weren't good in a bunch of different areas and that's not on our guys. That's on me. I thought we had a good week to practice. Every mistake we made, we're not good enough to get away with those things yet."

On young roster facing the option offense.
"We had a hard time overcoming it. I was concerned about it going into tonight to be honest. I don't know how many new guys we had facing the option for the first time. I knew that was going to be an issue a little bit. We just didn't handle that very well and hopefully we learn from it and grow from it."
 
On allowing this team to develop.
"I've got to do a hundred times better with these guys because we don't understand that we're making these mistakes. That falls back on me. We got some growing up to do in a lot of spots. We have some maturing to do in a lot of spots, and we're probably not quite as good as we think we are in a couple of spots, and we have to get that figured out."

On moving forward.
"We just have some things to figure out. The good thing is this team is going to fight, we have a lot of tough guys. I'm not worried about that. It's a little heartbreaking for now, but we'll get back and watch some film to get better."
 
On what wasn't clicking tonight.
"Details. That's the biggest thing. It's all details. We have to focus in on those things for the rest of the season. We didn't do that tonight and it all starts there."

On what hindered the fast start.
"We kind of shot ourselves in the foot in the first half on a couple possessions. We really could have had things tied up or something close going into half. The production just wasn't there in the second half."
 
On key penalties eliminating explosive plays.
"The explosion plays. Those were crucial. At the end of the day, we have to better and really work on the little things. We have to be better on third down, those are the crucial plays, those decide games. We just have to prepare, make corrections and get ready for VMI."

On facing the option offense.
"It was some things we saw during practice this week, and we felt good about it especially coming out in the second half. We just have to move on and get things right."
 
On The Citadel controlling the TOP.
"It was a long game. They held the ball for a while and it made us tired, and we expected that. We worked on it all week in practice. They executed. We have to work a little harder and get ready for VMI."
