Men’s Basketball Returns Home to Host Furman in National TV Showdown on Wednesday

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball team returns home to welcome SoCon foe Furman for a nationally televised matchup on CBS Sports Network.

CHATTANOOGA (January 6, 2026) --- For the first time in nearly a month, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team is set for a home game inside McKenzie Arena as the squad hosts Southern Conference foe Furman on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. (ET) on CBS Sports Network.

Tickets can be purchased HERE in advance or by calling/visiting the McKenzie Arena Box Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627) during business hours of M-F, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (ET).
 
Chattanooga (6-9, 0-2 SoCon) is looking to bounce back from a pair of league-opening defeats on the road last week, falling 77-72 at UNCG and 79-71 at VMI. It's the first 0-2 start for the program inside SoCon play since 2020-21.
 
The Mocs held a late five-point lead at UNCG last Thursday before surrendering a game-ending 13-3 run from the Spartans. On Saturday, UTC stormed back from a 19-point deficit at VMI before falling just short over the final minutes.

Furman (10-5, 1-1 SoCon) saw a six-game win streak snapped during an 80-77 overtime loss at home to Western Carolina last time out on Saturday evening. The Paladins opened league play with a tight 74-72 win over Mercer inside its home base of Timmons Arena.

Chattanooga true freshman guard Tate Darner has impressed during his rookie campaign despite missing a pair of games due to in­jury… Darner leads SoCon freshmen this season in 3FGM (28) and ranks sixth among all SoCon rookies in scoring (9.2 PPG).
