MOCS TIE ILLINOIS CHICAGO FOR PROGRAM'S FIRST-EVER DRAW
Due to a tight travel timeline, the Mocs and Flames game on Sunday was called after seven complete innings, ending in an 8-8 tie. That is the first-ever in program history. UIC got the scoring started with three in the first and added a fourth in the third. The Mocs picked up runs in the first, third and fourth to get to within one at 4-3. Both teams put up two in the fifth to remain a one-run game and the Mocs tied it 6-6 in the sixth with a single run. In the seventh inning, UIC took an 8-6 lead in the top of the inning, but the Mocs struck back, plating two to tie it up 8-8. Chattanooga started the inning with a single. The pinch runner stole second and another single put runners at the corners. A walk loaded the bases. A single up the middle pulled UTC to within a run, 8-7 and a sac fly followed a flyout to tie the game. With runners in scoring position and fly out ended the game for the draw.
